Late Iron Age (900-1200 AD.).
Found in bronze at the burial place of the tribe Latgali at the farm Karkli in the Parish Berzaune in eastern Latvia. The bracelet with animal head ends are most popular in the Late Iron Age. The bracelets were used by women as well as men, the heavy and most ornamented forms were for men.
For women there were certain regularities in the wearing of the bracelets. Usually they were of the same number on both arms. The animal head ends are a result of the influence of animal style, which started in the end of the Middle Iron Age.
