The German Iron Ages (400-800 AD.).
Amulet. Found near Roskilde. Bracteate (Bractea = thin disk).
Although nordic, it is created as a copy of the roman medallions, but differ from these by being struck only on one side. In the few cases, that they were struck on both sides, it is two unilateral sides welded together. Bracteates were massproduced and worn as good luck charms.
