Late bronze age (800-400 BC).
Found in bronze at Skrydstrup, Sønderjylland.
The first items of casted bronze appear in Scandinavia around 2500 BC Most excavations reveal jewelry, symbolic weaponry and different religious effects in bronze. Apparently the bronze has been used primarily for the manufacture of items with a symbolic importance or sheer status-symbols. The people of the bronze age were fascinated by the beautiful shine in polished bronze.
